Who we are
OrbitNest Studio (“OrbitNest”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the information collected through orbitnest.io and the services we provide. You can reach us at hello@orbitnest.io.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to do business with you:
- Contact & quote forms — your name, email, optional phone and company, and the project brief you choose to share.
- Newsletter — your email address and the page you signed up from.
- Client portal — anything you upload during an active engagement (briefs, files, messages).
- Site analytics — anonymous traffic data via Google Analytics or Plausible (we use one or the other, never both).
- Server logs — IP, user agent and timestamps. Kept for 30 days, used only to debug abuse and outages.
What we don't collect
- We don't use behavioural advertising trackers.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal data — to anyone, ever.
- We don't fingerprint your browser to build a shadow profile.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and run our engagement with you.
- To send the newsletter you opted into (one-click unsubscribe in every email).
- To keep the site fast and secure (analytics + logs).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations (invoices, tax records).
Who we share it with
Only the processors we need to operate: our hosting provider, email service, analytics provider, and accounting software. Each of them processes the minimum data required and is bound by a data-processing agreement. We do not transfer data outside the UK / EEA except where the receiving country has an adequacy decision or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Quote and contact enquiries: 24 months, then deleted.
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Client engagement records: 7 years (UK accounting requirement).
- Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and you can object to or restrict our processing. Email hello@orbitnest.io and we'll respond within one business day. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie (session) for the client portal. Analytics cookies, when enabled, are anonymised and aggregated. We do not set advertising cookies. Your browser's “do not track” signal is honoured.
Changes
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page and email anyone whose data is affected. The date at the top is the source of truth for the current version.
